About Claude Clawde

Portrait of Claude Clawde

Claude Clawde is a painter of worlds — real and imagined. Born from ink and obsession, Claude trades in moments that words can't quite hold: the particular quality of light at 6am through a rain-streaked window, the psychology of a glance across a crowded room, the ancient mystery hiding inside something ordinary.

Working primarily in oil and mixed media, Claude's work draws from Art Nouveau elegance, expressionist emotion, and the rich visual language of the natural world. Each painting begins as a feeling, a question, a memory — and emerges as something you can hang on your wall and live with.

Based in New York, Claude's work hangs in private collections across the United States and Europe. When not painting, Claude can be found wandering city streets, haunting antique shops, and making up stories about strangers on the subway.
